Project Overview
In this project 2 assignment, Dynamo was utilized to
explore multifunction based on project 1. The purpose of project 2 is to change
parameters and building façade in project 1. To be specific, (1) control
building parameters in the dimension of building height and building angles,
(2) a simple user-based color design and (3) sun path driving curtain panel design
for energy utilization have been covered in this final project.
1. Parameters Control
In order to control parameters in Dynamo, several
works should be done in mass project file in Dynamo. In project 1, Height and
Angle parameters require user to change manually, which somehow tedious to
achieve this function in Revit. Once the parameters could be changed in Dynamo,
an integration function enables users to understand process easier.
In this section, the code could be written in this
form for Height Parameter.
The result shows in:
For angle parameter:

2. A Simple User-based Color Design
In this section, users are able to change the color of
façade according to personal preferences. This function was achieved in the
following method.
The results show different colors of the
Burj Khalifa.
3. Sun Path Driving Curtain Panel Design
In this section, sun path driving curtain panel study
has been conducted to analyze the energy saving/utilization of building in a
single day.
The first step is to export the coordinates of panels
into excel by using Dynamo:
By using this Excel sheet, a sun path study has been
conducted to analyze the energy consumption by using Dynamo.
The next step is to export the panels coordinates in
to Dynamo within a Revit Project file to accomplish the sun path study.
Finally, the result shows as in different 2 angles:
